Person looking out of a window

Dating begins long before you meet someone.

Every date is shaped not only by the other person, but also by your expectations, experiences, hopes, and fears. Understanding yourself changes the way you experience dating.

What is happening in this picture?

Maybe.

Or maybe not.

We naturally create stories from very little information. Learning to notice those stories is one of the things we work on together.

What can we work on?

Dating decisions

I don't know if I should go out again. Nothing is wrong, but I'm not excited. Am I being too picky, or ignoring something important?

We can slow the decision down and look at what you actually know, what you don't know yet, and what matters to you.

Attraction & connection

They're good on paper, but I'm not feeling it. I like them, but I don't know if I'm attracted enough. Is this something that could grow?

We can get more specific about what you are experiencing instead of forcing attraction into a simple yes or no.

Conversation & communication

I never know what to talk about. My dates feel like interviews. I leave realizing I didn't learn what I actually wanted to know.

We can work on having more natural conversations while still finding out the things that matter.

Overthinking, assumptions & anxiety

I'm analyzing every little thing they said. I can't tell whether something is a red flag or whether I'm making too much of it. I get nervous and don't act like myself.

We can separate what happened from the story your mind is building around it.

Patterns & what's getting in the way

I keep dating the same kind of person. I lose interest when someone likes me. I keep ending things after one or two dates.

If something keeps repeating, we can look at the pattern without turning it into a label about who you are.

What actually matters to you

My checklist says one thing, but real people don't fit neatly onto it. I don't know which differences matter.

We can get clearer about what you really need in a relationship, what is a preference, and what you may be assuming a certain trait will give you.

We don't only work on the answer.

You may come in with a very specific question: Should I go out again? Is this a red flag? Why am I not attracted? We can work on the question you came with, and also look at what is underneath it. What actually happened? What are you assuming? What are you learning about this person? What are you learning about yourself? What information do you still need?

I'm not here to make your dating decisions for you. I want to help you get better at making them yourself.
